I got even less painted this month than last month.

 Every time I got the urge to paint, it quickly went away, unless I immediately sat down and started.

Was another low production month.

Some Blacktree Design crossbowmen for use in crusader skirmishing and finished painting the last few figures from my Warriors of Carthage box from Victrix Miniatures.

Building a Carthaginian force for Clash of Spears

I have been interested in ancients for a very long time, So when Warlord Games announced they were coming out with S.P.Q.R. I was going to buy it, then I watched a couple of games on YouTube and glanced at the FAQ and knew it was not the set for me.

I dislike games where you throw buckets of dice, then your opponent throws buckets of dice.

Then I heard about the Kick Starter for Clash Of Spears. I watched the DEMO video andknew it was the set I had been looking for. When the Kick Starter began I immediately I backed it, and talked a buddy of mine into also backing it. We each got one of the warbands, me Carthaginian, he Republican Roman.

A couple of years ago I picked a mostly complete (turned out it was missing a sprue) box of Victrix Miniatures warriors of Carthage box at a Bring and Buy.

Here is what I currently have painted (waiting on transfers to finish the shields). The slingers are metal from Wargames Foundry (I believe). I have 15 or so figures left to paint from the box.

     I found the slingers in among the 500+ painted Imperial Romans and Gauls a different buddy gave to me. The only problem is they are painted better than my guys.

Last year I managed to paint 389 figures in various scales.

This year I hope to beat that number.

I got off to a slow start, but did get paint on some figures.

I got one more figures than last January painted.

Painted in December

In November I got zero figures painted.

In December I did get some figures painted.

First done were another bunch of much delayed Black Tree Design miniatures from their Warriors of Islam range, to be used for Osprey games "Outremer: Faith and Blood" rules.

Need to find a banner.

When those were finished I started working my way through my Warriors of Carthage box from Victrix games. I finished 12 Libyan javelin men, just need to get some shield transfers.

They will be used for CLASH of Spears, which I fell in love with after the disappointment I felt about Warlord Games S.P.Q.R. rules. I and a Buddy of mine backed the Kickstarter each getting a boxed warband as well, I obviously will get the Carthaginian one.

So, this month I managed to slap paint onto: 36 28mm figures

I got nothing painted in September.

I only managed to get 14 figures painted in October.

Monthly painting report (July 2019)

Warlord games recently had another sprue sale, of which I took advantage of.  All the figures I painted this month were ones I picked up from the sprue sale.

First up is some Chasseurs A' Cheval .

Next was a unit of French Hussars.

Finally in the last 2 days of the month these guys burst out of my need to be painted pile, a twelve man unit of French Line Infantry in Greatcoats. Their pompoms are white, as I haven't yet decided what company to add them to.
